Recently moved to the Richmond area from a high Asian population city and was apprehensive about the Asian grocery offerings in the area. I was so happy to discover that Tokyo market carries most of my Japanese food essentials!
They don’t sell produce, but that’s okay. They have a wide selection of natto, big bottles of my favorite ito-en teas, chazuke, miso paste, golden curry roux, hondashi, and other pantry staples. The owners are very nice and helpful.

I come here frequently for snacks but they also carry staple foods. very good prices for import goods, huge variety of foods and gifts. If you are looking to stock your pantry or just finds snacks this is a good place to go.

This has become one of my regular go to stops when I’m in Carytown. There aren’t many Asian markets in Richmond but even though it is a small market there is a wide variety of food selections. They had expanded the store since I first started going.
I like to buy my ramen, fish balls, banana milk, and treats here. The prices are reasonable and whenever I’m in there I try to pick up something new.
